The engineering, supply and construction company Solaris Holding AD - a joint venture of the Bulgarian-German SUNOTEC and the main shareholders of Eurohold Bulgaria AD, opened today a new hybrid power plant for the production and storage of green energy in the municipality of Oryahovo, Vratsa region.
The project is financed by UBB and the German Varengold bank AG. The Selanovtsi PV plant has an installed capacity of 59.8 MWp and an electricity storage system with a capacity of 107.3 MWh. It produces 79,892.71 MWh of electricity per year, which could provide power for over 22 thousand households and save 1,029,206 tons of harmful emissions. The produced electricity is managed by one of the leading licensed traders - “Electrohold Trade“ EAD, part of the Eurohold-owned Electrohold group.
Photovoltaic modules FEC Selanovci
The power plant covers an area of 37.86 hectares and has 103,116 photovoltaic panels installed. A team of 250 people participated in its construction. The battery modules are based on LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) technology.
The Selanovtsi PV project has been developed in accordance with the latest standards for efficient production and intelligent management of energy from renewable sources. Thanks to the integrated storage system, the produced green energy can be accumulated during hours of lower consumption and subsequently used during periods of increased demand. This
ensures a more even load on the power system, increases its stability and efficiency, and contributes to a more reliable integration of renewable sources into the national grid.
Solaris Holding has solid experience in building RES projects in Bulgaria and Europe. To date, the company has implemented projects for over 600 MW in Bulgaria and the region, to which over 2000 MWh of energy storage batteries have been installed.
Vasil Stefanov, shareholder in the project and head of mergers and acquisitions at Eurohold: “The Selanovtsi FPP is another project that Solaris Holding has successfully implemented on a rather complex and unfavorable terrain. I would like to thank my colleagues from SUNOTEC, who once again proved their professionalism in the overall construction, as well as our partners from UBB for the financial
support, thanks to which this park became possible. We are convinced that sustainable development goes through bold decisions and stable partnerships. With this project, we are taking another step towards a greener and energy-independent future.“
Kaloyan Velichkov, CEO of SUNOTEC, said: “The Selanovtsi FPP is another successful project that we are implementing with our partners from Eurohold. The construction of this hybrid power plant is a testament to our commitment to sustainable energy and innovation in the sector. Over 250 specialists from SUNOTEC participated in it, demonstrating their professionalism, efficiency and ability to implement complex projects in a short time. We are proud to contribute to the energy transformation of Bulgaria and Europe and to the integration of solutions that guarantee a more stable, clean and sustainable electricity system.“
Vasil Stefanov, a shareholder in the project, and Kaloyan Velichkov, CEO of SUNOTEC, officially open the plant with the inclusion of a 3D model of a solar collector
Vladimir Dichev, Chief Commercial Officer of Electrohold Bulgaria EOOD: “As a leading electricity trader, Electrohold Trade offers its customers competitive products that meet their needs to the maximum extent. Through the Selanovtsi FPP, we are able to offer flexible solutions in which green energy is increasingly taking a share. Thanks to the storage capacities, the electricity produced at the Selanovtsi FPP will be used much more efficiently, without burdening the electricity system. With our direct participation in such projects, we are
a driver of energy transformation and a reliable partner for industrial and commercial users.“
