The chairman of "Vazrazhdane" Kostadin Kostadinov announced that he had filed a report with the prosecutor's office against Boyko Borisov on suspicions of treason based on an article in the "Wall Street Journal".

The report was filed yesterday at the end of the working day at the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, because we currently do not have a chief prosecutor, as is well known, Kostadinov said at a press conference at the BTA National Press Club. „The person Sarafov is currently practically a usurper of the Prosecutor General's office and the big question here is who, or rather which institution, will throw him out of there“, he added.

We saw that Boyko Borisov actually confirmed almost everything in the signal, commented Kostadinov. „A Bulgarian politician – the chairman of the party holding the mandate, allows himself to trade Bulgarian and foreign property in exchange for his personal party interest. This is called trading with power, trading with influence and is punishable, and when it is done with foreigners, it is treason“, pointed out the leader of „Vazrazhdane“.

I listened to Borisov's explanations, they came quite exotically, on the sidewalk in front of his house to the questions of a former politician, a former journalist, commented Kostadinov. According to him, this shows that something urgent needed to be explained. This type of conversation on the sidewalk with conveniently posed questions shows a guilty conscience, commented Kostadinov. In what capacity does he dispose of public state property such as the gas pipe, the leader of “Vazrazhdane“ also asked.

We do not trust Boyko Borisov, so I consider my signal to the prosecutor's office to be quite justified, he also said, but added that he has no illusions that this signal will be worked on.

Here we are talking about one of the most serious media outlets in the world, no random things are published there, there is nothing random about this. Here we should ask ourselves the question, since “Wall Street Journal“ can to some extent be called an officialism of certain circles in the United States, whether this is not a clear showing “not a yellow, but a red card in the literal sense of the word to Borisov and his party, and perhaps through him to his partner or his majority owner - Peevski“, commented Kostadinov.

The leader of “Vazrazhdane“ announced that they will extend an invitation today to the largest possible set of civil organizations in order to schedule a meeting at which they will begin to comment on the issue of re-establishing the state and a new social contract. According to the party, there is a need for a new constitution, which would include a reduction in the number of people's representatives, a lowering of the status of the National Assembly, the formation of a semi-presidential republic, an increase in the president's mandate, and the abolition of the institution of the prosecutor general. The next elections should be preparatory for the Grand National Assembly, said Kostadinov.

When asked about the intentions of „Majesty“ to seek support from „Vazrazhdane“ for a vote of no confidence in connection with the „Wall Street Journal“ article, Kostadinov said: „Let them seek us“. Boyko Borisov is not the Prime Minister, I do not know how they will argue it, he added.

Yesterday, GERB leader Boyko Borisov commented on the material of the „Wall Street Journal“ newspaper in an interview with Nikolay Barekov, parts of which were published on the Facebook page of the GERB political party. „I always promote „Balkan Stream“, Boyko Borisov stated in the interview. "I was invited to a meeting with Trump Jr., with whom I had a working lunch in Sofia. I went, we met, we remembered good times and I left. What a scandal there is here, given that even today we have paid one million and fifty thousand to "Botaš". Why don't you ask how this contract was signed," he points out.

“Former Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, who is still the most powerful man in Bulgaria, saw an opportunity - the advertising of the pipeline and other Bulgarian assets could provide him with a meeting with the American president, whom he met in 2019. Among other things, Borisov is trying to seek relief from sanctions under the "Magnitsky" Act for some of his closest associates,“ writes the “Wall Street Journal“. Borisov joined Trump Jr. for lunch with executives from the crypto company “Nexo“, who had invited the president's son to give a speech, the publication recalls.
