Officially - from today the obligation for dual price indication - both in leva and in euro, is backed by serious fines. After the last „YES“ from Europe on Bulgaria's path to the eurozone – The state has given a two-month grace period to traders, Nova TV reports.
But starting today, those who still do not display the prices of goods in stores in both currencies - lev and euro - will be fined up to seven thousand leva.
Sanctions are also being imposed on around 250 traders with a turnover of over ten million leva, who must submit information to the website kolkostruva.bg daily. A report shows that so far only 50% of those obliged have sent this information.
In the field of view of inspectors from the CPC and the NRA will also be companies that unreasonably raise prices - or in other words, for reasons other than increased transportation costs or employee salaries, for example.
