This budget is not even social, but rather a redistribution from the state, but when it has high levels of corruption, then this redistribution is ineffective - at best and completely corrupt - in the worst case, which is what we actually find ourselves in. This was said on the air of the Bulgarian National Radio, the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" and PP-DB MP Bozhidar Bojanov.
He defined Budget 2026 as very bad: This budget is simply spending. He takes from the workers, takes from those who are insured, takes from business and pours them into the coffers and into the security forces, whose salaries are increasing significantly.
In the last two budgets - when the current "Zhelyazkov" cabinet was in power - there was an increase in the percentage of redistribution from GDP to 46%, which is extremely worrying and leads to a near collision with the iceberg, he commented.
Next year's budget is not GERB's, nor BSP's, nor ITN's, this is Delyan Peevski's budget, Bozanov believes, specifying that the first to come out to defend Budget 2026 were the leader of "DPS-New Beginning" and the MP from this parliamentary group - Yordan Tsonev.
He recalled that back in September they sent proposals for right-wing measures to Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova, which, however, were not included in the preparation of the state budget plan for next year: "They were not adopted, of course, but we will propose them again between the first and second reading of the budget in parliament. We proposed about 30 measures - among them are ceilings on bonuses in the public sector, private hospitals holding tenders, citizens receiving notifications upon hospitalization in order to catch fictitious hospitalizations. For the TELK system, we have also proposed a mechanism through digitalization and risk assessment to prevent shocking cases. The budget for people with disabilities is 4 billion leva and they do not reach people with disabilities, but people who want to have their own parking spaces or have some additional income without having any disabilities. If they want to say that the budget is social, they should reform it there.
Rumen Spetsov does not meet the criteria in the law to be a special manager of "Lukoil", the PP-DB MP was categorical and commented: "Being a tax official and having audited "Lukoil" has nothing to do with experience in the oil industry. But they voted for it so that even if it contradicts the law, it cannot be appealed".
According to him, the temporary positive result is that there is an exception and the refinery will be able to operate in the next 5 months, but many mistakes were made in the process, because even under the current law, which was adopted in 2023 at the proposal of the State Duma, a special administrator could have been appointed much earlier:
"In these 5 months, financial flows to Russia must be limited, which is the goal of the sanctions - to limit the money to finance the war. The ultimate goal is to sell the refinery and all other assets to a Western investor who does not have a strategically damaging influence, which is what every Russian asset in Bulgaria has. ... There are risks from the approach that the government chose".
