Citizens are protesting in front of the Courthouse in Sofia demanding the resignation of the acting (acting) Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov. The event is organized by the initiative “Justice for Everyone“ and is under the title “Operation: “Nonsense 2“. There is a strong police presence in the area, BTA reports.
The movement in the area is limited.
According to the organizers, Sarafov is a political appointee of the MRF and unquestioningly carries out political orders, keeping the entire prosecutor's office in an "iron grip", managing it single-handedly and determining what to work on and what not.
Until Sarafov vacates the office on the fourth floor, the protests will continue and we will signal the European Prosecutor's Office for violating the rule of law. Tomorrow is the last opportunity for the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) for a remedial exam, lawyer Velichkov Velichkov from "Justice for Everyone" told the media.
Tomorrow the SJC Plenum will meet, with the only item on their agenda being "Determination of an interim acting prosecutor general".
