Plugchieva: Yotova delayed the appointment of a caretaker cabinet? And why was the parliament on vacation for 20 days... - 1

At the moment, there should be no evasion of responsibility and the current cabinet, despite being in resignation, is constitutionally obliged to fulfill its duties. If we are talking about a delay, let us recall that the parliament went on a 20-day vacation over Christmas and New Year - all this shifted the procedures in time, so the reproach is extremely unfounded.

This was stated by the former Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Meglena Plugchieva in the program Metronon on Radio FOCUS regarding the criticism from several political parties towards President Iliana Yotova that she is delaying the procedure for appointing a caretaker cabinet.

"The caretaker cabinet will not solve the problems of the state in any case, because according to the Constitution, the caretaker cabinet has the main task of preparing the parliamentary elections. But here the bigger problem that the parliament has created again is the crippled Constitution, the fruits of which must be counted for the second or third time, namely the compilation of this limited list of representatives from several institutions from which the president is obliged to choose. And at the moment Yotova is placed in an impossible situation - to choose among people unsuitable for this position, which is obvious to everyone," said Plugchieva.

Plugchieva pointed out that the candidates according to the so-called "home book" are also nominated and elected by the parliament.

"I very rarely or almost never hear of anyone seeking or asking questions of the Constitutional Court, because the mutilation of the Constitution was sent to the Constitutional Court and it could have ruled and overturned this absurdity from which the entire country suffers, but that did not happen either. And since the National Assembly and the Constitutional Court have not done their job, the president cannot be expected to bear all the responsibility," the former deputy prime minister believes.

According to Plugchieva, the country is heading in a very bad direction economically.

"A big problem is the demographic crisis, and as a result of this comes another problem - the deteriorating quality of education and the lack of qualified labor," she said.
