A key political week begins.
President Iliana Yotova will hold a final round of consultations with three political formations tomorrow. Representatives of APS, MECH and Velichie have been invited to meetings at "Dondukov" 2. After talks with them, the president must appoint a caretaker prime minister.
A total of five officials, from the so-called "home book", have already expressed their readiness to head the interim government. These are the Deputy Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Andrey Gyurov, Deputy Ombudsman Maria Filipova, the Chairman of the Court of Accounts Dimitar Glavchev and his deputies - Margarita Nikolova and Silvia Kadreva.
The elected candidate for acting prime minister has one week to propose a government. If everything is in order, the president issues a decree appointing the government. And at the same time, he sets the date of the early parliamentary elections, which must be held within two months.
