The Cabinet presented a package of measures due to the crisis in the Middle East - 1

Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov and ministers from the Cabinet presented a package of measures to overcome the consequences of the crisis in the Middle East and their impact on citizens and businesses in Bulgaria. Support for the most needy individuals in the amount of 20 euros per month is now in effect due to high fuel prices.

►Gyurov announced that the measures are aimed at:

• fuels;
• transport;
• electricity;
• access to liquidity for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The entire approach will be controlled by a headquarters in the Council of Ministers.

„When the crisis in the Middle East broke out, the government acted very quickly and took measures to help those most affected. Namely those with low incomes and those who use petroleum products. We are aware that this crisis will take time to return to normal, so the government had one main goal to develop specific measures to help. And that is why over the past week the government had one main goal to develop a package of measures that would help in several directions. First, to provide predictability and peace of mind to both the industry and the people, that for different levels of development of the crisis there will be measures prepared to help those most in need. And secondly, to be able to identify exactly those sectors and needs that, when supported, will be able to break the chain of price increases, so that we preserve purchasing power, preserve the ability of people to go and shop peacefully”, said Gyurov.

We recall that in recent days the caretaker government held a series of meetings with key sectors in connection with the preparation of a comprehensive package of measures after the start of the crisis in the Middle East. Prime Minister Gyurov recalled that the country has opportunities within the framework of the extended budget, which will be in effect until the adoption of the state budget for 2026.
