"For us, the rules and principles before the appointment of new members of the Supreme Judicial Council are more important. This is not about dividing the quotas in the council. We from the PP-DB will once again submit our bill to change the rules for electing the Supreme Judicial Council on the first day of the new National Assembly,” he said.
"I do not expect Vanya Stefanova to implement a change in the prosecutor's office. Her entire professional experience is related to the lobbies that we are fighting against. The important thing is that we have a new acting prosecutor general to fulfill this position", the former justice minister said.
Slavov also commented on the situation surrounding Manol Peykov's entry into parliament. "The whole intrigue that arose around Manol Peykov is not a political drama. With us, these decisions about who will enter from where are made after serious discussions. The parliament loses from the fact that he will not be there, but it is Assen Vassilev's right to choose where to become an MP. This case revealed defects in the arrangement of the lists," he said.
Assoc. Prof. Slavov said that the coalition partners should unite around a single presidential candidate.
