Nikolay Vasilev: In recent years, the state has not had any economic policy - 1

„The policy of the last finance minister can be summed up in just one sentence - we are taking on as much debt as possible, spending as much as possible, we have huge deficits, zero reforms and the more we spend, the better”.

This is what the economist and former deputy prime minister in the government of Simeon of Saxe-Coburg - Nikolay Vassilev said in the bTV studio.

„In recent years, the state does not have any economic policy or economic debate, it has a budget-spending policy. If you ask me how I will remember the last few years of chaos, timelessness and endless scandals – only by talking about how much more money to give and to whom," Vassilev added.

Bulgaria will not go bankrupt, but because of the efforts of previous governments over the years, not because of the management of the last three years, the economist said.

In his words, the country is dealing with senseless scandals such as ministers in the official cabinet, party games, tutus and poodles, and problems such as demography and migrants are waiting to be resolved.

Vasilev believes that the next government should achieve budget surpluses and set an implementation program, in which the economy and business should be present.
