It must be utter madness for MPs not to get together and hold an extraordinary meeting regarding the changes to the PVA. If they don't do it, Mini-Maritsa and TPP Maritsa-Iztok 2 will go bankrupt.
This was stated in the program "Denyat live" on NOVA NEWS, the energy expert Ivan Hinovski, on the occasion of the scandalous last session of the parliament.
"Whatever we do, within two years we will lose the mines and TPP Maritsa-Iztok 2. At the moment they are kept working artificially. If this continues, the price of electricity will be higher. The high emission prices from TPP Maritsa-Iztok 2 make it unprofitable. We need to develop RES, water plants, gas plants. The Greeks did just that, and we currently buy such regulation energy from them. The price of electricity will have nothing to do with the closure of Maritsa-Iztok 2 TPP. Our coal-fired power generation is extremely uncompetitive. Let's do nothing, let's not make any decisions, TPP Maritsa-Iztok 2 will close", Hinovski was categorical.
