Glavchev: 89 people traveled on the current flight from Lebanon, more are expected to arrive tomorrow

We had requests from about 160 Bulgarian citizens and their families, a little more than half arrived on the first flight. Other requests are also processed. A new flight will be scheduled as soon as a group is assembled and travel is safe. About 400 Bulgarian citizens live in Lebanon, but not all of them have expressed a desire to be evacuated, said Elena Shekerletova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

We are discussing all options for evacuation. A second flight is not excluded. The most important thing is that it is done in the most secure and safe way. There is nothing more expensive than human life. This was stated by acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev at the return of the first group of Bulgarians who returned from Lebanon during the evacuation with the state-owned “Airbus”, quoted by Nova TV.
"Things moved relatively quickly. 89 people were traveling on the current flight, more are expected to arrive tomorrow. Everyone is smiling and alive and well, I wanted to see for myself that everyone is okay. We will evacuate the Bulgarians from Lebanon in the safest way, regardless of the cost," he added.
According to Elena Shekerletova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the work continues. "We had requests from about 160 Bulgarian citizens and their families, a little more than half arrived on the first flight. Other requests are also processed. A new flight will be scheduled as soon as a group is assembled and travel is safe. About 400 Bulgarian citizens live in Lebanon, but not all of them have expressed a desire to be evacuated," she pointed out.

The massive attacks on Beirut and its surroundings by the Israeli forces continue for the eighth day. The bombings killed hundreds of civilians of the country, and among the victims were the leaders of the military groups "Hezbollah" and "Hamas". Israel announced that a total of 20 members of the Shiite group had been removed after its leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed on Friday.

Travels to Israel and residence in the country should be undertaken only in case of urgency, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
