Regional Governor Plamen Yanev held consultations with political parties and coalitions for determining the composition of the Burgas Regional Election Commission for holding elections for members of the European Parliament from the Republic of Bulgaria and for people's representatives on June 9, 2024.
The total number of members of the RIC Burgas is 17 people, including the chairman, vice-chairmen and secretary. 5 members from the "GERB - SDS" coalition, 4 members from the "PP - DB" coalition, and 3 members from the "DPS" party have the right to participate in the composition. Party “Revival“ and coalition "BSP for Bulgaria" have 2 members each, and the party “There is such a people” – 1 member.
Fani Semerdzhieva from the coalition “GERB-SDS“ and Violeta Atanasova from the "Revival" party. Coalition "PP - DB" nominated Georgi Mihov as secretary of the commission, and the party “DPS“ - Emine Ilyaz. Dr. Margarita Sabeva from the party “There is such a people” and Lyubima Burgazlieva from "BSP for Bulgaria".
After a discussion, no agreement was reached between the participants both regarding the election of the chairman and vice-chairmen and secretary. In this situation, by April 19, the Central Electoral Commission must distribute the leadership positions of the RIC.
