In practice, we don't know anything about the case against the head of customs and the other two, we don't know the facts, we only know the accusation. Today, nothing happened in Petya Bankova's case, because it is a case for measures, essentially it is not considered", said Veselinova.
And he added that "at the moment there are no facts that this is an organized criminal group for smuggling".
"In this case, the information is leaked to the media for political purposes. There is undoubtedly smuggling in Bulgaria and it is controlled by the authorities. And this is what former and current rulers and politicians say. The question is why? We had a case for leaking data from the National Revenue Agency, what happened? Nothing! The "Nexo" case – nothing.
The problem is that the prosecutor's office does not provide statements and information for a person to draw a reasonable conclusion. Instead, they leak interview reports, photos and what a witness said. Such leakage of information is done when the prosecutor's office initiates and conducts a case for political purposes against businesses and by order", commented Mirela Veselinova.
She is sure that "this case – Petya Bankova will go to court and we will be witnesses in a case in Strasbourg and we will be convicted again.
"What is being done now is an abuse of power. Do you remember the case of the attempted murder of Peevski? And how many things, formed in a flash, collapse. These are all political affairs," the journalist recalled.
And predicts that the committee "The Notary" it will not finish its work, because GERB and DPS do not wish to continue the work of this commission.
