Ivo Indjov: If Daniel Mitov becomes foreign minister, it means that this is an official cabinet - set GERB light - 1

The signal given by the acting prime minister is very negative. The feeling is created that the acting prime minister is on call from the leader of GERB - Boyko Borisov. This is what he told Radio "Focus" the political scientist Associate Professor Ivo Injov on the occasion of the desire for personnel changes in the official cabinet, which Dimitar Glavchev announced.

"The questions arise again: Was this formula for the caretaker government successful with a change to the Constitution? To what extent he is immune from political pressure - apparently he is not immune at all. What will happen from here on", explained Prof. Indjov.

According to the political scientist, the reasons for the requested change of the foreign minister are very unclear: "The people at the highest levels of power know what it is about, but the general public, to whom the press release reaches, must guess or solve some kind of puzzle as to what all this means. There should be clearer institutional communication with citizens.

The political scientist drew attention to the fact that it is theoretically possible for the president to refuse to sign the decree on the replacement of a minister:

"He has that right. However, the current legal framework does not say what happens after his refusal. This would lead to a major crisis, which Bulgaria does not need.

There is a very high degree of probability that the president will sign the request of acting Prime Minister Glavchev to replace the interior minister, because Rumen Radev has already made it clear several times that although he does not approve of the changes in the Constitution in the part about the ad hoc government, he will not create obstacles to the new format of ad hoc government, but at the same time he will not be responsible for the decisions of the people and political forces that govern the ad hoc government. The head of state will sign the decree, but will continue to criticize the current formula of a caretaker government", according to Prof. Indjov.

According to Injov, if Daniel Mitov becomes foreign minister, the impression will be strengthened that this is an official office - garnish GERB light.

"Obviously, there are problems in the behavior of the current foreign minister and he is obviously not the right person for this post, but here the question arises - what approach did Prime Minister Glavchev have after he was assigned this responsible task. What is even more alarming is why he succumbs to the pressure of his former political boss, who is Boyko Borisov", the political scientist also commented.

Prof. Ivo Injov pointed out that if there was a Law on the interim government, things would be clearer: "But the parties of the assembly are in debt to the Bulgarian citizens, because most likely, not allowing that there will be early elections so early, they did not reach and to this law".
