For the first time in Bulgarian history, the grave of a leader of the Orthodox Church was vandalized. Twice in recent days, vandals have encroached on the lobular place of Patriarch Neophyte in front of the capital's "Holy Sunday" temple. That night a man took down the cross and tried to tear the mourning flags. On Saturday, the lamp placed at Neophyte's last home was also broken.
At 11:37 p.m. on Monday, a man walks confidently towards the tomb of Patriarch Neophyte. 10 seconds - that's how long it takes him to remove the cross. Video cameras also captured the attempt to remove a memorial plaque from the entrance of the temple. After the failure - the man tries to tear the mourning flags as well.
