What could be the reasons for the accident in Turkey? What does it mean to drive at 75 km/h. over the limit? Should the speed be reduced by 10 kilometers on expressways and highways? Should we be entitled to a driver's license at 17? Commentary on these topics by the former head of the Traffic Police Tencho Tenev, quoted by Nova TV.
Tencho Tenev commented on the accusations that the investigated Stefan and Marin Dimitrovi were close to him and that he introduced them to the former Minister of the Interior Boyko Rashkov. “They are trying to suggest to some people that we gathered at the home of Minister Rashkov together with Stefan Dimitrov and Marin Dimitrov. I visited Rashkov, Stefan Dimitrov was not present. I have seen him two or three times, he came to the traffic police. He said that he had been to the director of GDBOP and that he was his friend. I can't tell you why he was with Kalin Stoyanov," he said.
"Stephan's father, Marin Dimitrov, I have only seen him once in front of the traffic police building. He had come to replace the battered front number plate of his vehicle. He said he was from Haskovo and we talked because we are from the same area. He worked in the system for many years, before that I had never met him in Haskovo," Tenev explained.
According to him, the cause of the accident in Turkey was not a technical fault in the vehicle. "Before the crash itself, there is a roundabout. It is very likely that another means of transport blocked the driver's path, that he left the roadway, and that the bus overturned. It is also possible that he was driving at an unreasonable speed, hit the brakes, and lost control of the bus. The Turkish authorities will investigate what exactly happened," he explained.
Tenev pointed out that bus drivers must be very careful when driving, as they are responsible not only for their own lives, but also for the lives of the people they drive. "People, stop. "From the beginning of the year until now, we have had 1,800 serious traffic accidents, over 100 killed and over 2,000 injured citizens," he said.
The former head of the traffic police pointed out that driving at high speed is equivalent to the car hitting a concrete wall. "People who are gangsters on the road should be held to account and there should be statistics for them. They must take responsibility, not only to have their license taken away, but also to go to prison," added Tenev and pointed out that the Road Traffic Act should be changed accordingly.
