The green zone for paid hourly parking in front of the Fourth District Office in Sofia has turned into a private parking lot of the police, viewers signal to BNT.
In the area of the police station there are regularly parked personal cars of law enforcement officials, in which police paraphernalia is carelessly left. Lately, paid parking spaces have also been filled with confiscated cars with removed numbers.
The problems with the parked personal cars of policemen in front of the Fourth district were discussed already 3 years ago. Then there was such a signal again. Residents of the area then said that the situation had significantly improved, but not for long. At the moment, on the headboard and between the seats, there are massive batons and caps again.
Kalin Tiholov, resident of the area: "The cars have been standing for more than 8 hours and I have never seen any ticket on the dashboard. And when the employees pass by the clamps, they say: "We don't hang them like that, we can't deal with it like that,", he says.
The Center for Urban Mobility acknowledges the problem, but assures that all citizens are penalized, regardless of the police insignia. After the appearance of our team in the area, there were also SMS messages about the distinctive cars.
"For me, the problem exists, and for me it is offensive that the people who control compliance with the rules try to break them. I guarantee you that we have such cars repatriated daily and with clamps placed," said Ivaylo Simeonov, head of "Parking Control and Forced Relocation" in TCG.
The lack of places in the area of "Krum Popov" is palpable, and the paid spaces are already occupied by crashed cars that have been sitting there for months. In addition to cars from accidents, there are also confiscated cars in the area of the 4th district administration, which are still physical evidence, but it is interesting why they are repatriated to a place prohibited from parking.
"This borders on complete absurdity. Where the sidewalk has been removed for easier access, this car has been sitting there for more than 2 months," says Tikholov, pointing to a blue car.
After the last reports from residents in mid-April, the Central Municipal Administration sent a letter to the head of the 4th police station with a copy to the head of the SDVR, in which they say that only registered cars are allowed in paid parking areas and if not take action, the impounded cars will be repatriated and sanctioned. The problem is in front of every district, because the planned parking for such cars is not ready yet.
The SDVR explains that CGM controllers must sanction all those who have not paid for a zone, regardless of the set police attributes.
