After the kilometer-long queues of cars at the border crossing “Malko Tarnovo” on holidays the mayor of the city – Iliyan Yanchev wrote an angry post on social networks and asked if a European border looks like this.
„The point was created nearly 50 years ago. There is only one exit for cars and buses. The wait is more than 6 hours on the way and more than 6 on the way back. Shortly after leaving the checkpoint itself, there is only one lane left, where both cars and buses leave in one lane and traffic jams occur. It is not the employees of the station to blame, but the infrastructure of the station itself. If there is an extra strip, there will be no problem. The neighbors are ready with this project and are waiting for us to build a checkpoint with 4 lanes to handle the traffic, he explained on the air of "Hello, Bulgaria". Yanchev.
