We are already seeing the entry of hydrogen technologies into real life. I hope that charging stations for servicing hydrogen cars will be built soon on the territory of Bulgaria.
This was said by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Dimitar Nedyalkov during the opening of the first hydrogen charging station in Bulgaria and the region.
„The Ministry of Transport and Communications fully supports the development of hydrogen technologies and their entry into the transport sector. We see potential for this in urban and heavy-duty transport, as well as in the railways, Deputy Minister Nedyalkov pointed out.
He recalled that work is underway on the deployment of charging infrastructure and by the end of this year a procedure for BGN 92 million will be announced under the “Transport Connectivity” 2021-2027 for the construction of
infrastructure for alternative fuels on roads and in ports for public transport.
The first charging station for hydrogen electric vehicles in Bulgaria and the region is part of the Field Laboratory “Integrated Energy Systems” of the Central Committee "HITMOBIL". The project is carried out by the Central Committee “HITMOBIL”, BAS and the Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems “Evgeni Budevski” to the BAS.
The hydrogen produced on site goes directly to the hydrogen charging station where it is compressed to
the necessary pressure to carry out the charging.
The station has two outlets with different pressures, which allows cars, vans and trucks to be charged within minutes.
