When the younger generation enters working age and starts setting the agenda, the technology and social networking stuff will fall into place. Right now, some seniors have to set the agenda and regulations regarding technologies they don't fundamentally understand.

A real boom in robotics is expected, soon to be available to all users and supported by artificial intelligence. It would not be unusual if we witness in some businesses robot employees in the offices by 2035, commented Spas Ivanov, co-founder of Baseline IT Security, in "Bloomberg Bulgaria".

The biggest news in global cyberspace is Joe Biden's executive order, by which the US president bans the TikTok platform in the country if it is not sold to an American company within 12 months. This is the first signal that the Western world sees that such platforms do not help the social system and democracy, Ivanov said.

By law in China, TikTok's parent company ByteDance must provide all collected data upon request to the Chinese Communist Party, but access to that data is not the main concern for the US. The concerns are related to the fact that no one knows how the platform's algorithm works and how it selects the content to provide to the user.

The social network can promote certain political beliefs among young people who are still forming a view of the world. The expert believes that if the platform had not been banned, China's possible desire to provoke social tension in the US would have succeeded.

The ban could be seen as the equivalent of Google being banned in China, but the guest explained that in democracies it is more difficult to make such a comparison. This is because in democracies there is freedom of speech, and when bans and regulations start, it is difficult to justify them to the public.

He added that there is a study that shows that Chinese TikTok is completely different from that in Western countries, as in the Asian country it recommends and promotes educational videos for children, and around the world it pushes more destructive ones to the fore.< /p>

Known phishing tactics are used in the cyber security sector, e-mails and messages from courier companies that hackers imitate and put a fake link are popular in Bulgaria. Ivanov believes that it is very likely that the website of an agency or ministry will be attacked in the midst of the pre-election campaign. He also added that we will witness a lot of misinformation.

Disinformation can be spread across different platforms, the difference between them being that TikTok is unregulated, while platforms like Facebook suffer from harmful policies or inadequate measures.
