The movement of trains from Sofia to Northern Bulgaria will be further modified as of Monday, May 13. This is necessary because of the long delays, since due to the repair of tracks at the central station in Sofia, the trains travel to Sever station, informs BNT.
With a changed composition and a changed route, a number of trains will run in the northern direction due to the modernization of the tracks of the Central Railway Station.
Since the beginning of the week, the repair works have created serious difficulties, and Transport Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov has requested an urgent reorganization of traffic and additional teams at the station to assist passengers. The BDZ advises to seek up-to-date information from the employees of the "Information" counters, the ticket offices, as well as the national information telephone number 02/931 11 11.
Due to the renovation, which will last more than a year, the Metropolitan Municipality has also introduced changes in the routes of public transport, mainly on tram lines 1, 3, 7 and 27. According to the plan, the modernization of the Central Station tracks should be completed in 15 months.
