„This is the parallel state that BSP has been talking about for years”. Thus, Christian Vigenin, leader of the Eurolist of the “BSP for Bulgaria” commented on the customs scandals in Bulgaria's ON AIR studio.
In his words, this is the parallel state in which there are umbrellas, in which services, the Ministry of the Interior, and institutions are allowed to know that a certain person is involved in smuggling, and that he can go on the run for years without any problems and to be free. A country in which there are circles that put people in positions, puppeteers who manage processes in front of everyone, who change politicians and formations.
„Therefore, when voting - let's vote for formations that are proven not to be influenced by such behind-the-scenes players. If more people vote for parties like the BSP, which did not obey the backroom – step by step we can clean our country”, pointed out Christian Vigenin.
„Of all the more than 30 parties and coalitions that registered for these elections - 4-5 are left-wing, all the rest are right-wing and centrist. However, no one asks the question why the right is not united, somehow no one is excited by this fact, everyone asks why the left is not united,” said the socialist in response to the host's reply.
„The problem with some of these left parties is that instead of making an effort to be together, they made an effort to create something different from the BSP. However, we as BSP said: we want to create something different for Bulgaria, an alternative for Bulgaria, which is the big goal. And that's why a lot of left-wing, patriotic, some centrist, environmental organizations went with us, and we showed that just 10 days ago. And they saw that if there will be a strong left – the center of this left is BSP. The other formations must finally accept this fact”, the deputy chairman of the BSP pointed out in the conversation about the strong left.
And added: “They set conditions. We did not go to tell ABV or "Stand up BG" or as they say now – remove Maya Manolova and we will unite”.
In his words, the unification will not happen when all the leaders who were once in the BSP and then left sit at one table.
„There is a chance for the left to unite not through top-down leaders, but to unite by the way left voters will vote. We have seen that the right-wing formations cannot and do not want to defend the national interest. We will do that, but we have to be stronger, Vigenin was categorical.
„But I think people see it – do they want a united left, which I think largely represents the BSP. Or they want leadership parties, fragmented and small, which are kept on artificial respiration, as much as to attack the BSP, some of them with behind-the-scenes supporters, who very much keep the BSP from being strong. This is the alternative for the left-wing voter,”, the socialist pointed out.
