The first flights of the medical helicopter under the HEMS system are expected by the end of May, the official minister of healthcare Dr. Galya Kondeva.
The first training flight with medical teams and the corresponding equipment was carried out today.
By the end of the month, the medical teams must receive their license after training. Then flights will be carried out within the limits of what is possible, Minister Kondeva also said:
"Which includes inter-hospital service when necessary, you know, with a helicopter you can fly certain distances, provide tissue, donors, medicine, crisis situations".
The process is long, but it is being worked on, the Minister of Health also said, adding that in order for the complete system of emergency medical assistance by air to work, it is necessary to arrive the second helicopter, which has been paid for, as well as to complete the construction of the helipads.
