Possibilities for strengthening cooperation in the field of security and defense were among the topics discussed in a video conference call by the Acting Minister of defense Atanas Zapryanov and his Ukrainian colleague Rustem Umerov yesterday. The information is from the Ministry of Defense.
Minister Zapryanov emphasized that the provision of military and military-technical assistance to Ukraine, including its Euro-Atlantic integration, is one of the priorities of the current caretaker government in the field of defense and this process will continue on the basis of those adopted by the National Assembly decisions and what has been done so far.
Rustem Umerov congratulated his Bulgarian colleague on his appointment to the post of Acting Minister of Defense. The Ukrainian minister expressed gratitude to our country for the support and active cooperation.
At the beginning of May, the caretaker prime minister also held a video conference call with his Ukrainian counterpart, Denis Shmigal. Dimitar Glavchev expressed a firm position on Bulgaria's unwavering support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
