If the Constitutional Court cancels the changes to the Basic Law, it will applies the old mode before the changes. This was stated by Tervel Georgiev – lawyer, candidate for deputy from GERB-SDS in the program “The Live Day” on NOVA NEWS on the occasion of the amended conditions for the formation of an official cabinet, made in the Constitution by the previous parliament. He is an associate professor of criminal law and head of the department of criminal law at Plovdiv University.
On the proposals for a completely new Penal Code, he clarified that accusations of defamation and insult will be decriminalized. “This does not mean that we will accept that they are not illegal acts, but they are not of a high degree of public danger”, explained Georgiev.
