Former Minister of Health Dr. Asen Medzhidiev was elected Chairman of the Management Board of Metropolitan Medical College, reported by the class organization, quoted by BTA.
Dr. Medzhidiev received the support of 343 delegates during the Report-Election Meeting of the College. For the other candidate for the post – Dr. Ivan Vetsev from Second SAGBAL "Sheynovo" 125 voted.
The doctors in Sofia elected Dr. Vanyo Vidkov, who was the head of the SLK until now, as the deputy chairperson of the regional college, will be in charge of the Hospital Support department; Dr. Katya Zaharieva from 28 DCC has been re-elected to the post of vice-chairman with the "Specialized Outpatient Medical Care" department, and Dr. Nikolay Branzalov, a general practitioner, will be responsible for the "Primary Outpatient Medical Care" department.
Prof. Lyubomir Alexiev from the Military Medical Academy was unanimously re-elected to the post of general secretary of the state medical organization in the capital. The neurosurgeon from UMBALSM “N.I. Pirogov“ Prof. Nikolay Velinov headed the College's Control Commission. The pediatrician from UMBAL “Lozenets“ Prof. Yordanka Uzunova once again heads the Committee on Professional Ethics.
The reporting and election meeting of the SLK also announced delegates for the meeting of the Bulgarian Medical Union, which will be held in September.
