Yavor Siderov: There is a contradiction in Borisov's thesis about a government - 1

There is a contradiction in Boyko Borisov's thesis about a future government, because he is talking about an expert government, and he is talking about political talks with the other parties in the 50th parliament and about posts for GERB, and these are political appointments. This opinion was expressed to the BNR by the historian and political analyst Yavor Siderov.

"He says what would work now is a first-term expert government. And in the same sentence he says that this expert government should be headed by an expert from GERB. As well as the fact that GERB is responsible for two of the key ministries - internal affairs and defense. Which is very telling, because in other circumstances GERB was taken by the Ministry of Finance and others, responding to the profile of the party and the needs of their voters. Now Borisov insists on the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Defense, which shows what the real motivation is and where the real energy for the work of a future government comes from, and it comes from external factors - from foreign policy, from defense, from the geopolitical situation," Siderov pointed out.

According to him, the big problem is that the situation requires political responsibility, and in Borisov's thesis there is no assumption of political responsibility: "He explains it by the fact that it is very difficult to assemble a majority in the National Assembly and that is why he decided to go to expert government".

Borisov is the winner and he must make a sacrifice, the analyst thinks and comments: "Even with a reduced result, he is the winner of the elections. It is on his shoulders to make a decision that may not please everyone but is good for the country. This decision is clearly regular government, not expert. The expert government is a front".

In the words of Yavor Siderov, from what Boyko Borisov stated at the first briefing after the elections, "a huge caution" was seen: "Part of Borisov's great political skill is to weave his own political survival into the general picture of politics in Bulgaria".
