Volgin: Censorship in Bulgaria and the EU has reached terrifying proportions - 1

"Censorship, both in Bulgaria and throughout the EU, has reached terrifying proportions. I have resisted it in Bulgaria for many years and will continue to resist it from now on. I will remain the same politically incorrect Peter Volgin whom you know and voted for" - with this request, the journalist, until recently elected MEP from "Vazrazhdane", addressed the 71,224 people who voted preferentially for him.

In a post on Facebook, he pledged to do everything possible to live up to the expectations of both "Vazrazhdane" voters and supporters of many other parties who supported him with their votes. And he recalled what his main goals were as a journalist:

"I take this great support as an endorsement of the positions I expressed during the election campaign, and also of all my behavior in the media space. I have worked in a variety of media - BNR, BNT, many other TV channels, newspapers, magazines, websites - and I have always cared about one thing the most. I have insisted on respecting the freedom of everyone to have the right to express and defend his own point of view. I have defended the right of everyone to speak without fear that something bad will happen to them if they express an opinion different from the official one," Volgin wrote.

The journalist stated that "today, censorship, both in Bulgaria and throughout the EU, has reached terrifying proportions.

"I have opposed it in Bulgaria for many years and will continue to oppose it from now on. I will remain the person you know, I will remain the same politically incorrect Peter Volgin, for whom you voted!", he concludes his post.
