The Holy Synod will hold a meeting today, at which 9 eligible metropolitans will be determined, among which three candidates for the patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
Before BNT, Metropolitan Cyprian of Stara Zagora explained what the requirements are for tomorrow's election.
"They must be 50 years of age, at least 5 years of metropolitan ministry and a righteous lifestyle. These three, who collected two-thirds of the votes of a total of 14 metropolitans, will be presented at the patriarchal council next week.
The patriarchal election should take place on June 30.
