This was stated by the Acting Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev on the air of Nova TV in connection with the established presence of “intestinal enterococci“ and “Escherichia coli“ by the health authorities.
"In Kranevo, the necessary prevention against pollution is being done. Purified water poured into the sea. The samples of the chemical composition of the water are clean, in the biological samples there is an increase in some values, but it is not critical. It sounds scary, but it's not really a big problem. It is recommended not to enter the sea," the minister pointed out.
According to him, the repair of the treatment plant will be completed within 10 days. "It is a kilometer inland. The collector pipes start from there, pass under the beach and have a discharge point where the purified water is poured - 300 meters into the sea. Every month twice, there is monitoring of the purity of the Black Sea water, which is reported to the EC," he explained.
The minister acknowledged the labor shortage in the tourism industry. "This problem hit me right from the start. It does not stop, but it is not the scope of the ministry. There are labor issues in all sectors, a balance has to be found between securing workers from third countries and the security of the country. The consular services work all year round, the whole concept cannot be changed with a magic wand, Miloshev believes.
Regarding holiday prices, he stressed that the state cannot control the free market. "Concession contracts have minimum and maximum prices. They are announced at the beginning of the season. There are places where the prices have been reduced, there are also places with an increase of 10-20%, it depends on how well the specific beach is arranged", added the official minister.
Milosev refused to answer whether he would remain in a regular cabinet if offered.
