DPS under Radev: The most normal thing is to support the mandate of the winner. The elections are a final option - 1

„DPS aware of his responsibility to the voters to form a regular cabinet supported by a solid majority if possible. We will walk this path. The question is whether the other political forces understand it. And the more important question is how exactly do they understand it? Because the most normal thing is to support the mandate of the winner, because that is the will of the Bulgarian people. No matter how small a part of the Bulgarians voted – both those who voted and those who did not vote said the same thing, that trust was low and they did not want elections. This was stated by Yordan Tsonev at the beginning of the consultations on forming a cabinet under President Rumen Radev, quoted by Nova TV.
„Moreover, the request of the smaller parties to assemble a cabinet with their mandate does not correspond to the fact that this mandate will be supported by the first two political forces. It will depend on the majority and the will of the first two political forces, and we don't see any difference in that - apart from political ego,” he added.

Tsonev also stated that the DPS also rely on the role of President Rumen Radev as a mediator between the political forces in order to reach a compromise.

„We are counting on you, Mr. President, in this process. On your authority to convince the political forces of your role as a mediator. Because he obviously needs a mediator and there is no one else to be but you. We hope that you will, as always, live up to this responsibility. And you will convince the other parties that we have to come up with a solution to this situation. Elections are a last resort and not a solution. We heard this clearly from the Bulgarian citizens”, Tsonev is categorical.

"For us, the reading of the election results clearly speaks of broken trust in the political subjects and in the political process in the country. This is a process that has developed particularly strongly in the last three or four years," he noted. And he added that this is due to the fact that in the country the political forces distance the agenda of the people from the agenda of the institutions. "We have to go back to the people and work with the people," he is emphatic.

Tsonev stressed that after these elections, it became extremely clear that the people do not want new elections, but for the political process to stabilize and to have a majority to solve their problems.
