After Andrey Gyurov, Kiril Petkov threatened to replace the anti-corruption commission - 1

„ Peevski started “shooting” of potential caretaker prime ministers who are beyond his control”. This was written by the co-chairman of “We continue the change” Kiril Petkov on his Facebook profile.

„After 6 failed mandates, GERB and DPS are showing weakness with these desperate moves. Their biggest problem is that they always overplay”, added Petkov.

„Tomorrow we are putting in the rules for

election of new members of the anti-corruption commission.

We are about to find out what is more important to them: the money under the PVA for Bulgarian businesses and citizens or to keep control over these clubs,”, Kiril Petkov's publication also says.

In April 2023, Lex.bg reported that the deputy chairman of the KPCONPI Anton Slavchev was not elected by the parliament as acting chairman of the commission after the resignation of Sotir Tsatsarov, therefore he is not competent to appoint or dismiss employees in the commission, as well as to perform other tasks attributed only to the chairman.

Kiril Petkov's comment is about the decision of KPCONPI that

there is an existing incompatibility regarding the Deputy Governor of the BNB Andrey Gyurov.

Until the subsequent legal actions are taken, in order to avoid any doubts regarding compliance with the legal framework, Gyurov went on unpaid leave, the BNB says.

Andrei Gyurov later came out with a position in which he defined the decision of the CPC as politically motivated.

From “We continue the change“ also came out with a position on the case. They published the statement of the deputy governor of the BNB Andrey Gyurov.

Andrei Gyurov was elected deputy manager of the “Emission“ last year, and their mandate should last 6 years. At that time, Gyurov was a member of parliament from the PP, bTV recalls.

In 2022, he was proposed for governor of the BNB, competing for the post with Lubomir Karimanski from ITN.

Then there was a clash between the coalition partners PP and “There is such a people”, the bank manager was not elected. Subsequently, Slavi Trifonov's party left the coalition and Kiril Petkov's cabinet fell.
