According to the decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, the relics of the Holy Patriarch Evtimii Turnovski will be brought to Sofia, dariknews.bg reported.
The shrine will be brought by His Eminence the Great Bishop Sionii - abbot of the Troyan and Bachkovo monasteries, to the Patriarchal Cathedral "St. Alexander Nevsky". The relics will be received on Saturday - June 29, at 11:00 a.m.
The shrine will be placed next to the miraculous icon of the Mother of God - "It is worthy", thus the newly elected Bulgarian patriarch will be able to bow to his predecessor and ask him for intercession and help.
The worship before the holy relics of Patriarch Euthymius will be able to take place on July 1, Monday in the Patriarchal Cathedral "St. Alexander Nevsky". Then the newly elected Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia will celebrate his first holy liturgy.
The three candidates for the new patriarch are Metropolitan Grigoriy of Vratsa, Metropolitan Daniil of Vidin and Metropolitan Gavriil of Lovchan.
