Four people died and 35 people were injured in a natural gas explosion in the Turkish city of Izmir, Anadolu Agency reported, quoted by BTA .
The explosion happened in a restaurant in the Torbal district of Izmir, Southwestern Turkey. Emergency crews, fire services and police are on the scene.
„We found that an industrial gas cylinder in the restaurant was working when the explosion happened,” said the governor of Izmir Suleyman Elban, quoted by the Turkish site “Haberler”.
He added that there was damage to 11 residential buildings near the restaurant.
Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 35 people were injured in the incident.
