Yuliy Pavlov: What was done today does not look like taking responsibility, but calling the shots - 1

President Rumen Radev handed the first exploratory mandate to GERB. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov presented a cabinet project.

"Mr. Zhelyazkov is one of the most representative persons of GERB", commented the political scientist Lyubomir Stefanov in the program "Bulgaria in the morning".

Former Deputy Foreign Minister Milen Keremedchiev emphasized that GERB is betting entirely on a party cabinet.

Sociologist Yuliy Pavlov noted that Rosen Zhelyazkov came with a ready-made cabinet, which is strongly partisan. He is of the opinion that the government should be with the first mandate, but according to him "it is not normal to act so forcefully".
"Mr. Borisov offers a 100% party cabinet to GERB. There must be a minister of foreign affairs at all costs. We saw the pressure that Serbia put on us and we buckled down. We see the statements coming from North Macedonia. We see the serious blunder that would have resulted if the president had led the Washington delegation to NATO. Until recent months, the Foreign Ministry was humiliated to rescue Bulgarian citizens abroad and organize elections," Keremedchiev told Bulgaria ON AIR.
According to Stefanov, Zhelyazkov has proven that he can lead a complex National Assembly.

"There were no accidents while he was chairman. His political opponents cannot deny his qualities. The exploratory mandate was thundered far ahead. "Politics is the ability to negotiate with everyone in the room, whether you like them or not," he added.

"Boyko Borisov's behavior is not known for consistency, but in this case it was consistent. During the campaign, he said that he would not govern with DPS alone. He said there should be a normal coalition with a coalition agreement. What was done today does not look like taking responsibility to me, but calling the shots. Such an approach cannot work in which you have only 68 deputies. The first government of Boyko Borisov was also a minority government, but it had 116-117 deputies, Pavlov noted.
According to Keremedchiev, the proposal of this government is preparation for the next elections. Stefanov also agreed that GERB is making a request for a new early vote.

When asked how new elections will affect voters, Pavlov replied that most people do not vote and if there are elections in the fall, even more people will not go to the polls. According to him, new elections would have a bad effect on Bulgaria. According to him, there is a plan that after the next elections, Borisov will be able to say: "I tried everything, I will have to go with the DPS.
