The project for the construction of the highway "Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo" is included for funding under the "Transport Connectivity" program 2021-2027 Funding provided is insufficient to build the entire highway. Therefore, an additional financial resource from the state budget or another source will be needed to finance their completion. This was said by the Acting Minister of Regional Development, Violeta Koritarova, BTA reports.
The construction of the motorway, which will be more than 132 km long, is divided into three sections. The first is Ruse - Byala with a length of 40.24 km, the second - a bypass of the city of Byala, is 35.4 km long and the third Byala – Veliko Tarnovo is 57.2 km long.
A technical project is now being prepared for the Ruse - Byala section, and the finished development must be submitted for review by an expert technical-economic council to the road agency by August 18, 2024, the minister said.
She assured the people's representatives that the department and the road agency are working with priority on all vertical transport corridors to ensure the connectivity between the north and the south of the country.
