The DPS is structured in such a way that when there is a problem in one of the regional structures, for example, the party's immune system is immediately activated. Collective bodies have always been the ones to discuss and make decisions, hence the current problem as individual decisions and force approach have dominated lately.“
This is how Dr. Hasan Ademov, former Minister of Labor and Social Policy and one of the party's iconic figures, described the situation in the DPS to the BNR. According to Ademov, in the DPS the leading principle has always been to make decisions after discussions. It is for this reason that the question of the support of the cabinet "Zhelyazkov" has created tension.
„The decision-making mechanism in the party is creaking. It is a fact that the Central Operational Bureau has not met since the national conference”, Dr. Ademov also said.
He was adamant, however, that DPS has the resilience to solve its own problems.
„DPS is in top form, in the last elections it increased its votes and its presence in the National Assembly. A party like DPS will not allow disunity and this was the main message after the meeting of the 17 people's representatives with the honorary chairman Dr. Ahmed Dogan. We expect him to speak and interpret the message “There is no going back”, Hasan Ademov added.
According to Ademov, it is notorious that the leader of the DPS is Dr. Ahmed Dogan, and the operational leadership consists of two people who have clear rights and obligations.
„The two co-chairmen have a completely different profile: one comes from business, where decisions are made alone and are expected to lead to concrete results. Jevdet Chakarov is an academic person, dialogic, he relies on collective decisions”, Ademov also said.
In his words, the party statute clearly states that if there are violations in the procedures, there should be a sanction.
According to Dr. Ademov, the situation in Bulgaria and what is happening in Europe require maximum efforts to form a government, but a decision on the second term will be made after the necessary discussions in the DPS.
