I am not against Dogan and no one is against Dogan. We, who are in Peevski's team, are firmly convinced that someone was frightened by a large and powerful DPS that was being renovated. I am bitter about the ethnicization of the problems in DPS.
This is what MP from DPS Yordan Tsonev told BNR
And the "scared" described as: "Those who want a small, more ethnic and more closed DPS".
"I am outraged by the ethnicization of the problems in the DPS. This is not aimed at society, but within the party. We continue to hear "Let's take back the party from the Bulgarians", "Bulgarians and Pomaks want to take our party", commented Tsonev and stated categorically:
"The party is ours, common - to Bulgarians, Turks, Pomacs, Roma, all kinds".
The deputy declared that since the problems in the Movement began, he had not heard, seen or talked to Ahmed Dogan. However, in his words, there is nothing unusual in this, because in the last 3-5 years he has heard and seen only a few times with the honorary chairman.
"We did not go against Mr. Dogan. Some people have to go because people want them to. I still have some hope that some kind of solution will be found, because it does not benefit the dispatchers. This is not beneficial for the country either," he said.
According to Yordan Tsonev, the formula for the chairmanship of the DPS since 2013 has been wrong. According to him, the only one not named by Dogan is Peevski. All structures had nominated Peevski for chairman, he explained.
"I hope that DPS does not lose this great start that it has had since the National Conference. What Peevski called a new beginning. I hope this new beginning continues. This is very useful for DPS. I'm in Peevski's team, but I'm not against Dogan and nobody is against him.
In this parliament, any chance of forming a regular cabinet has been exhausted, the MP from DPS categorically stated.
"The real chance to form a cabinet was lost in the first term. There was such a majority - both hypothetical and real", he thinks and added:
"Even if a cabinet was not formed in the first term, the support of the cabinet proposed by the winner of the election would be a good basis for talks about the second or third term. If this counter had not been pulled in this way - with one order 15 minutes or half an hour before the vote, there would have been support from our side and we would still be the second group.
According to him, however, GERB is not the dividing line in DPS.
People wanted a regular cabinet and we said in our program declaration how exactly we plan to do it, Tsonev reminded about the beginning of the current parliament. He emphasized that then the entire parliamentary group had appointed a negotiating team with GERB, with whom all issues were discussed and clarified. We have made a decision to support, he pointed out. And he continued:
"We went to the president and repeated our theses. After that, 2 weeks passed, in which neither the honorary chairman sought us out, nor our colleagues said that they had arguments against it. When the meeting was supposed to start, Jevdet Chakarov came with an order from the honorary chairman.
The division came from this order, Yordan Tsonev explained. According to him, it was at this moment that any possibility of forming a cabinet was liquidated.
We are heading for new elections, the deputy was categorical and admitted that the DPS is not in good condition.
"The problem is that the new beginning that put the new leadership at the head of Chairman Peevski involved several steps. The first of these is for DPS to open its electoral fan wider. This election started to happen. /.../ The second step was to conduct a much more targeted policy towards people and municipalities. Here is Peevski's great success. /.../ The third part was that the DPS will be cleaned of the people that people in places do not want. The first steps have also been taken for this process.
The desire of part of the old DPS apparatus to preserve the old image and the old formula does not correspond to the wishes and interests of the voters, does not correspond to the large-scale plan that Peevski implemented, he emphasized. According to him, if the party had remained as it was, it would have had at least 50,000 more votes in the next elections.
Regarding the declaration of PP-DB and the requested postponement of the delivery of the mandate, Yordan Tsonev emphasized that we are in the hypothesis of Art. 99 which gives an exact technology how to elect a regular government by the parliament. In this government election procedure, the PP-DB went to the president to tell him they wanted a 3-month reprieve to make legislative changes, and the president floored them, he commented. And he defined the PP-DB proposal as "putting the cart before the horse".
"First a government is made, then a legislative program is made".
According to him, this is another attempt on their part to "rape the Constitution".
Declaration for the adoption of legislation is not a usual legislative practice, the deputy emphasized and added:
"You cannot say with a declaration what exactly you will accept. /.../ This is some kind of political innovation that cannot pass even in the Bulgarian parliament in this form".
In this sense, the PP-DB cannot rely on the support of the DPS, Tsonev is categorical, adding that this is not a fight against corruption:
"PP-DB do not have the moral right to say who supports the fight against corruption and who does not. A large part of their leaders have no integrity regarding corruption. For these people to precisely weigh the anti-corruption integrity of other parties is ridiculous and even impudent.
