The fire in the municipality of Strumyani continues to rage, and at times the fire under the village of Tsaparevo goes from low in Verkhov, BNT reported.
For now, there is no danger to the houses in the village, as well as to those in the village of Karpelevo, whose residents were evacuated. The property of people from these settlements is guarded by employees of the Ministry of the Interior.
The two planes that extinguished the flames from the air yesterday went back to France. Today, two helicopters from the air base in Krumovo will be involved in the extinguishing. According to the European protection mechanism, two planes from Sweden are also expected to arrive, but they must first make an inspection, and they will actively participate in the extinguishing from tomorrow.
Yesterday, the municipality of Strumyani announced that volunteers are needed to participate in the extinguishing, but they must be prepared and coordinate their actions with the firefighters on the ground.
The fire near our border with Greece continues to burn, where the fire has reached 50 to 100 meters into our territory. And there, the fight against the flames will continue today, both on the Bulgarian and Greek sides. The fire burning in Macedonia near our border is almost under control at this point.
