We will not witness two DPS in the upcoming elections. There are not so many options for choosing a new caretaker prime minister. This is what Genoveva Petrova, a sociologist from "Alpha Research", explained to BNR.
"That part of the Movement's sympathizers, which we could define as authentic supporters, will be motivated to the extent that they feel threatened that someone is trying to steal their party. However, whether the movement itself could achieve a distinctly higher result - I think not. The other wing also has the support of a significant part of their voters.
It is possible, even with lower turnout, that the weight of individual parties in the National Assembly will be different, the sociologist predicts.
"The expectations are that Mr. Glavchev will be appointed again in the same position. I don't think the procedure itself will have a strong impact on how the political processes will develop.
The possible change of Raya Nazaryan to the post of chairman of the National Assembly was more of an intrigue than an action that could lead to a different development of events, the sociologist also pointed out in the show "First of all".
Petrova also drew attention to the President's finding that professionalism will no longer be a leading criterion when appointing the representatives of the positions from which ex-officio prime ministers could be elected.
"A lesson should be learned from the whole process – and with the constitutional changes, and with the confrontation between the parties, and with the confrontation between the institutions", the sociologist pointed out.
