Georgi Markov: All the symptoms of a political and party crisis in Bulgaria are present - 1

There will continue to be elections until the end, forecasts the former deputy and constitutional judge Georgi Markov before the BNR.

"All the symptoms of a political and party crisis in Bulgaria are present. Very poorly representative Bulgarian parliaments, which is the first indication that the parliament cannot be expected to fulfill its mandate. Very low voter turnout - contrary to trends in Europe. Very weak parties. Even the winner - GERB, has about 600 thousand votes. The other parties are even weaker," he explained.

According to him, it is necessary to think about what is done in such cases, in which 2/3 of the Bulgarians have turned their backs on the parliament, and the parties are weak. "The typical savior for Bulgaria is gone," the former deputy pointed out. According to him, the mixed electoral system is very good and gives more stable parliamentary majorities.

Peevski may have really become a phenomenon because he is about to get a DPS, Markov also commented and continued: "The steam makes the fight. The boy is running, doing something".

According to him, a sanitary cordon cannot be placed around Peevski.

In the show "RadioTochka" Georgi Markov recalled the fall of the communist regime in Bulgaria. "In November 35 years ago, a very big change took place in Eastern Europe. Now an even bigger change is taking place - it is global, it does not just affect Eastern Europe or Europe, it affects the whole world. This change is visible", he emphasized and pointed to the election results in East Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria as an example. According to him, no one expected that there would be such a breakthrough of the patriotic forces.

Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections would mean a very big change, because it would be the victory of a Trumpist, an anti-globalist, a patriot, a Christian, Georgi Markov expressed his opinion and noted Trump's strong support to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. According to him, in many places in the US there is great euphoria around Trump:

"From what I see, I believe that Trump will win, of course with all the peculiarities of the American electoral system".

In his words, in the other case - if Trump loses the election, things will remain the same as now, and Orbán will remain the "black sheep" for America. However, Markov noted that America is not an example of democracy at the moment.
