Traffic accidents in cities are 100 more than the same period of the previous year. There are also 40 more accidents outside populated areas.
There are fewer incidents in the villages.
It turns out that out of a total of 891 serious accidents outside populated areas - half of them are on first-class or third-class roads - almost 500. For comparison - there are 83 on highways.
Between the village of Litakovo and Botevgrad is one of the deadliest sections in our country. It is dotted with dozens of monuments. A chapel was even built. Two weeks ago, a young boy from the village died after a head-on collision there.
Drivers regularly pass here at high speed. People complain that even in the village the restrictions are not respected.
That is why they insist on a constant police presence, as well as more pedestrian paths.
Most of the roads between the villages are in a similar condition, say experts.
„First is poor maintenance. Second – there are no markings on these roads. Most young drivers who have just received a license, they want to travel, and when they go out on a third-class road - this person, as he has no experience, does not know how to react, how to take the turn. He doesn't know where his end is, where the banquet is.
In the last 24 hours alone, there have been 19 accidents with injuries and deaths in our country.
