"It cannot to prevent the holding of early parliamentary elections. This is an axiom in law – therefore, the calling of elections and the setting of a date cannot be tied to the appointment of a new government. How is it that now Kalin Stoyanov is uncomfortable, and no one contested the results of the previous parliamentary elections".
This was stated by the specialist and professor of constitutional law Dr. Orlin Kolev on the air of BNT, commenting on the reading of the constitutional changes – because there is also one that, if a new interim government is not approved, new elections cannot be scheduled.
"There is no problem for Dimitar Glavchev to head a new caretaker government. He can also return as chairman of the Audit Chamber – both hypotheses are constitutionally compatible, he also stated.
Dr. Kolev also explained that it is possible to set a date and then form an interim government, or to form a government first and only then set a date.
"How come Kalin Stoyanov is uncomfortable now, and no one disputed the results of the previous parliamentary elections, when Stoyanov was the Minister of the Interior. Maybe the politicians know something that they are not telling us - they should be so kind as to inform us, appeals Kolev.
