Aslanov: The upcoming elections will not be the last early elections - 1

The end of the political crisis is not as close as we would like and these early elections they certainly won't be the last premature ones.

This is what the sociologist Yury Aslanov told FOCUS.

"Party crisis is that creaking element that prevents the whole system from functioning. And there is no party that is left out of this drama, because it is clear that for years people blamed the state administration, government and institutions for their misfortunes or misfortunes, but now they have realized that the behavior of these institutions is shaped by the parties. The parties are not doing anything at all to make people like each other, they are drowning in some kind of hatred among themselves, and for several years no one has tried to talk to people and offer them ideas about the future", commented the sociologist.

In his words, looking at the intra-party disagreements, contradictions and fights in some parties, it is quite possible to arrive at paradoxes in the upcoming elections, he also said and pointed to the situation in the DPS, where the intra-party power is challenged in a rather extravagant way , the battle is fierce, there is no turning back for either side, and the final outcome is unknown. "It seems that in the internal party plan, Dogan's positions are stronger, stronger and more united than the long-standing practice of the DPS. On the other hand, however, Peevski's influence is on many levels in many different areas, not only in justice, which is the most talked about, but in special services, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in business, in the economy, in the financial world, including in the media,“ he explained and added that the possible outcome is a split and appearing with two separate lists in the upcoming elections, which will be a precedent for DPS in Bulgarian political history.

According to Yuriy Aslanov, in the BSP there is currently a petty fight between the leaders of the party, who seem to be more interested in the topic "Ninova” than they are worried about what else they will offer as an alternative for the upcoming elections. "Instead of building some new political entity to unite the left voters, they set about reuniting structural pieces that had separated from the BSP in the near or distant past. This will not help them, because all these deeply familiar leaders of the left are more compromised than anyone in the past and abandoned by left voters on various grounds and for various reasons,” he also pointed out.

GERB is the party that somehow stands out against this background with its stability, the sociologist pointed out: "But this does not mean that there is no crisis in GERB, and the last elections prove it. Obviously, there is already electoral erosion there as well.“ According to him, the entire party system is in crisis and there is no immediate horizon for a way out of this situation. "Party elites in their current form, with citizens' participation in the electoral process diminishing, have found a way to survive, preserve and reproduce through low voter turnout, and that suits them perfectly.“
