Coalition “Movement for Rights and Freedoms– A New Beginning” filed a complaint with the Supreme Administrative Court against the CEC's refusal to register her for participation in the early elections, Delyan Peevski announced in a position quoted by Nova TV.
We believe that this refusal is illegal, since the coalition has submitted all the necessary documents, according to the Electoral Code. The CEC completely tends to ignore the fact that the coalition “Movement for Rights and Freedoms– A New Beginning” was the first to apply for its registration with the Commission electronically, submitting at 0:05 a.m. on 02.09.2024, a regular application signed with the electronic signatures of the persons representing the coalition. In addition, a coalition “Movement for Rights and Freedoms – A New Beginning” was established on 27.08.2024, with the express notarized consent of the leadership of the parliamentary group of the PP “Movement for Rights and Freedoms” to use the name and abbreviation of the party. In this sense, all subsequent “participations” of DPS in other coalitions, as well as the use of the party's abbreviation in their names, are absolutely inadmissible and illegal”, explains Peevski.
In the words of the Chairman of the PG of the DPS “The CEC is compromised as an independent body bearing the highest responsibility for holding fair and democratic elections after the clear and rude intervention of Rumen Radev and the pressure on the Chairman of the CEC in favor of the separatists from DPS, which once again proves the existing Russian connections and influence”.
„Any propaganda manipulations and obvious machinations in violation of electoral legislation and democratic principles will not stop the new beginning and the need after these parliamentary elections for the Euro-Atlantic development direction of Bulgaria to be confirmed and defended by the highest state body - The National Assembly”, adds Peevski.
