Senior Lieutenant Vencislav Dunkin, 28 years old, is one of the pilots who died with the L-39 plane that crashed today at Graf Ignatievo Air Base. "Born to fly or die trying" is the motto posted on his Facebook profile.
Those close to him said that he recently got married. He is from Razlog, but lives in Pleven, as he serves in Lower Metropolia.
He has been a fighter pilot since 2015, an instructor and one of the hopes of Dolna Metropolia.
The other pilot who died is Major Petko Dimitrov, 51, who is an instructor. His colleagues describe him as a great professional and person.
"I cried when I learned what had befallen them both. How long will pilots die", said their colleague before "24 hours".
