Daniela Vezieva: There should be a buffer from which money can be taken in times of crisis - 1

We have a bad policy in the field of public finances, a severe demographic crisis, we have more pension costs, an increase in income, without this being tied to labor productivity. We are increasing the amount of pensions, the working ones are decreasing. This leads to something we have been talking about for months - we need a long-term vision for the development of the country. This was stated by the former Minister of Economy Daniela Vezieva in the studio of "The Day ON AIR".

She recalled the expectations that Bulgaria would become a full member of Schengen by the end of the year, but added that Schengen is changing.

"The Germans closed in, strengthened ground control. The familiar standard measures do not work. We must have a regional policy for our development for the next 10-15 years," urged Vezieva.

According to her, the correct position is for politicians to trust the experts and for the voice of reason to prevail.

"We listened to scandals, we saw that this is not the right approach. We have lost the meaning of civil society, others also say that we should forget about social benefits", said the former economy minister on Bulgaria ON AIR.

Vezieva is of the opinion that financial and economic stability are not only related to the level of inflation.

"What if we ask for a convergence report - this report will not bring us into the Eurozone from January 1. For the last 4 years, we have had a budget that is not flexible, more than 60% of the expenses are related to salaries, insurances, crisis problems are not solved. There should be a buffer from which money can be taken in case of crises", the former minister is convinced.

Daniela Vizieva is adamant that people who don't vote are punishing themselves, not the politicians.

"Let us be sensible, until we think for ourselves. We are entering turbulence, we will enter with a budget based on the current state," the guest warned.
