A three-year-old child was hit by a car in Selanovtsi village of Vratsa yesterday afternoon. Behind the wheel of “Audi" was a 45-year-old resident of the capital, and the child jumped out in front of the car between two cars parked on the street.
The driver failed to react and hit the child, the police said.
The injured boy was taken by ambulance to the Vratsa hospital, where they discovered that he had a broken lower leg and injuries to the ankle and knee of his right leg. According to the doctors, there is no danger to the little one's life, and the mother refused to let her child stay for treatment in the surgical department.
The police officers who arrived at the scene of the collision tested the driver for alcohol and drugs. His tests were negative. The prosecutor on duty was notified of the incident, and pre-trial proceedings were initiated.
