A technological giant from Taiwan enters the industrial zone of Plovdiv. The foreign investment will amount to billions. An interdepartmental group will soon be formed to assist the investor in Plovdiv.
This was announced by the acting Minister of Innovation and Growth, Rosen Karadimov.
„For 2024 alone, the state has earmarked 7 million for supply infrastructure. In the "Thrace Economic Zone" (TIZ) about half a billion investments have been made and 2300 jobs have been created. This is the right path and is a model that Bulgaria will have to follow, he pointed out to Nova TV. Rosen Karadimov.
„When everyone's efforts are synchronized, the result is achieved. The industrial parks program was so successful that in the 2025 budget we have proposed financing the development of a special national program with national, not European, funding," the minister added. Karadimov got acquainted on the spot with the progress of investment projects that are being built with the support of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth through the incentive measures under the Investment Promotion Act.
The visit took place on the territory of the second plant of "Schneider Electric", in which more than 15 million euros are invested. Thus, the total investment of the German company in TIZ will exceed 70 million euros since it set foot on Bulgarian soil, said director Martin Yordanov. The new plant has a built-up area of 8 acres, has special thermal panels with glass pipes that refract sunlight and with 25 cm wadding for noise and heat insulation. Separately, the use of geothermal energy is planned. The expectation is that this plant will be a showcase in TIZ, announced Yordanov.
